“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress.”
In Texas, there are more than 30,000 children living in foster care. Most of these children have been removed from their families because of neglect or abuse. These children need a loving family who will support them and love them unconditionally. Unfortunately, there are simply not enough families to care for the thousands of children in need. These children need caring foster parents who will love them unconditionally.
Mission 1:27 Foster Parents use their Christian faith as their guiding principle. This type of foster parent becomes the hands and feet of Christ in order to care for local children needing families. By establishing James 1:27 as the basis of their family ministry, Mission 1:27 Foster Parents enter into a discipleship that changes their lives, and the life of a child in need, forever.
Whether child in foster care lives with you for a few weeks or a few years, you’ll teach him or her that there are people of faith willing to provide a safe and loving home. Isn’t that something every child should know?
What Is Foster-to-Adopt?
The number one goal of foster care is reunification with a child’s family, if possible. Unfortunately, there are times when this cannot occur and children in foster care become legally available for adoption. We license all our foster parents as adoptive homes so you have the option to become a forever family to a child in need.
Is your church interested in raising awareness of the needs of local children? If so, you should consider our Mission 1:27 awareness campaign.
