Fostering is a gift. When you become a foster parent, you give a child the gift of a home, the gift of time, but most importantly the gift of family. Children who enter the foster care system have experienced trauma and loss, they need the hope and healing that a loving foster parent can provide. Not only will you have an impact on their lives, these children will change your lives. They will bring their own unique gifts to your family that will change you forever.
Every day there are hundreds of children in need of loving and caring families. These children have been abused, neglected, and traumatized by those that they trusted most. What they need now is a safe and loving family to support them as they heal and offer them the hope of a future.
Unfortunately, there are simply not enough families to care for all the children who come into the foster care system. That is where YOU come in. You could provide a child in your community with the gift of family, the gift of love, and the gift of hope by becoming a foster parent.
If you are ready to learn more about becoming a foster parent, we invite you to contact our Foster Care Staff. You might also be interested in viewing the areas we serve and learning how to get started.
What Is Foster-to-Adopt?
The number one goal of foster care is reunification with a child’s family, if possible. Unfortunately there are times when this cannot occur and children in foster care become legally available for adoption. We license all our foster parents as adoptive homes so you have the option to become a forever family to a child in need.
Who Are Mission 1:27 Foster Parents?
For people who wish to integrate their faith and foster care commitment, we believe fostering a child is best done in response to the mandate of James 1:27, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress.” We invite our foster parents to think of themselves as Mission 1:27 Foster Parents.
